    Like the name, polydome button is made from a raised poly(polyester or polycarbonate) button, not a metal dome. It can still provide the user with a good tactility (click feeling) feedback which is similar with a metal dome. But, why polydome? Two points,
    -It will help you lower the cost if your membrane switch contains many buttons
    -In some applications, metal objects are forbidden because they could cause electromagnetic interference or other undesirable effects.

    A poly dome membrane switch, the click feeling comes from the special dome on top overlay, there is no metal dome in it. It often gets simpler construction and better cost economic.
